Since 1989, our family has tended ten acres on Marrowstone Island with one eye towards sustainable agriculture and the other on enhancing the natural health of the pasture, ponds and woods that surround us.
We quickly established a small heirloom apple orchard and continue to tend those original trees, while grafting new cultivars as we find varieties to add to our inventory. The output from our small under-100 tree orchard provides bountiful amounts of fruit over a four month season.
What began as a chicken flock for the family's eggs grew over time to a passion for the preservation of old heritage breeds of poultry. Our original effort to provide a sustainable source of eggs and meat for the family table has expanded to providing chicks for our local community in an effort to help others explore the reach of sustainable living.
